About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and organized Aviation Ground Operations Supervisor to lead their ground handling team at the airport in Nelspruit . This supervisory role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of aircraft ground handling services, including baggage handling, aircraft servicing, marshalling, and passenger boarding/disembarking. You will ensure that operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with airline and regulatory requirements, while managing and motivating your team. This position demands strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of airport operations, and a commitment to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the daily activities of the ground handling crew to ensure timely and efficient aircraft turnarounds.
- Ensure all ground operations are conducted in compliance with safety regulations, airline standards, and company policies.
- Manage the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and vehicles, to meet operational demands.
- Train and mentor ground handling staff, providing guidance on best practices and safety procedures.
- Liaise with flight crews, air traffic control, and other airport stakeholders to coordinate ground services.
- Monitor operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in aviation ground operations, with previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft ground handling procedures, safety protocols, and equipment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Understanding of aviation regulations relevant to ground operations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays.
