Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Job Description

• iqx the Technology Division of iqbusiness is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their growing technology team based in Sandton.
• This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional who is passionate about building reliable, scalable, and high-performing systems while working in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
• This role is initially offered on a 6-month contract, with the possibility of converting to a permanent position based on performance and business requirements.

Skills and Experience required

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong programming and scripting skills using Python, Java, or Go.
• Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, IT operations, and infrastructure management.
• Experience working within cloud-based environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement automation solutions for system management and application monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure reliable and seamless software releases.
• Design, maintain, and optimize scalable infrastructure environments.
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application-related issues.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, processes, and runbooks.
