About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to join their remote-first engineering team. This position focuses on the architectural design, development, and optimization of complex electrical systems for global projects. You will lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the scalability and reliability of our electrical infrastructure, operating entirely from your home office. This role offers the flexibility of remote work combined with challenging technical responsibilities, making a significant impact on innovative projects regardless of geographical location, serving clients across various sectors including those in the Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of advanced electrical systems, ensuring performance and scalability.
  • Develop and implement strategies for power distribution, control systems, and energy management.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of electrical system components, from concept to deployment and maintenance.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices within the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, mechanical) using virtual collaboration tools.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation in electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical systems design and engineering.
  • Expertise in power electronics, embedded systems, and control theory.
  • Proven experience leading complex engineering projects, preferably in a remote or distributed team environment.
  • Excellent understanding of simulation tools and electrical design software.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, adapted for remote collaboration.
