Lead Network Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead Network Security Architect to join their fully remote security operations center. In this senior role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security architecture of our global telecommunications network. Your primary focus will be on protecting our infrastructure and data from advanced cyber threats, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and driving security innovation. This position requires deep expertise in network security principles, threat modeling, and the implementation of cutting‑edge security solutions. You will lead a team of security professionals, collaborate with engineering and operations teams, and shape the security posture of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust network security architectures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and access controls.
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures for network infrastructure.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
• Oversee the deployment and management of security solutions, ensuring their effectiveness.
• Lead and mentor a team of network security engineers and analysts.
• Collaborate with IT and business units to ensure security requirements are integrated into system designs and deployments.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• 10+ years of experience in network security, with at least 3 years in an architect or lead role.
• Deep understanding of network protocols, security technologies, and cyber threat landscapes.
• Proven experience with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements.
• Experience with cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills for a remote team environment.
