Field Service Technician - Industrial Equipment

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable Field Service Technician to provide essential support for industrial equipment in the Polokwane region. This hands-on role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex machinery at customer sites. You will be the primary technical point of contact, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime for clients in various industrial sectors. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude, committed to delivering exceptional service and building strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on industrial equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Install new equipment and provide comprehensive training to end-users on operation and maintenance.
• Respond promptly to service calls and provide timely resolution of equipment failures.
• Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Collaborate with the sales and support teams to ensure customer satisfaction and identify potential upsell opportunities.

Requirements

• Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role, servicing industrial equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the Polokwane area.
