FINANCIAL MANAGER Renewable Energy & Investments | Cape Town

Office Based Role

Our client, a leading investment and engineering group within the renewable energy sector, is seeking a qualified Financial Manager to join their Finance team in Cape Town.

This is a hands-on role suited to a technically strong finance professional who is comfortable working across multiple entities, jurisdictions and complex financial operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO and broader Finance team, providing financial oversight, reporting, compliance and strategic support across the Group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, financial reports, dashboards and Group reporting packs.
• Oversee tax compliance and support tax calculations and submissions across multiple jurisdictions.
• Manage and review month-end accounting, including journals, provisions, reconciliations, intercompany transactions and loan accounts.
• Oversee payroll processes and statutory submissions for South African and international entities.
• Manage fixed asset registers and ensure accurate capitalisation, depreciation and reconciliation between NetSuite and the General Ledger.
• Prepare Group covenant calculations and monitor loan repayments and financing schedules.
• Review supplier payments and approve weekly payments across various banking platforms.
• Coordinate audit preparation, support external auditors and review annual financial statements.
• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting alongside the CFO and Financial Manager.
• Support the Group's insurance function, including renewals, claims and asset additions.
• Drive finance system improvements, automation and process optimisation.
• Support BEE processes and audits.
• Ensure intercompany balances, loans and transactions are accurately reconciled across Group entities.
• Provide financial support and analysis on various investment and engineering-related matters.
• Assist the CFO and Finance team with ad hoc financial and strategic projects.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• CA(SA) qualification is essential.
• 2–5 years' post-articles experience.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Experience working across multiple entities and/or jurisdictions would be advantageous.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and experience with financial/accounting systems.
• Experience with NetSuite would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of tax, audits, reconciliations, payroll and statutory compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive, collaborative and solutions-driven approach.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for a technically strong CA(SA) who is ready to take ownership of a broad finance portfolio within a dynamic investment and renewable energy environment. The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, highly organised and comfortable operating at both a detailed accounting level and a broader Group reporting level.
