Junior Accountant

QUALIFICATIONS

• Matric Certificate
• Post-Matric studies in Accounting

EXPERIENCE

• Approximately 2-3 years proven accounting or related experience
• Data entry skills together with hands on experience of spreadsheets software
• Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws, and regulations.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

• Established proficiency in Microsoft 365 office suite with emphasis on Excel
• Proven Sage Evolution and Meat Matrix experience (non-negotiable)

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Excellent business English both verbal and written
• proven statistical and analytical ability
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
• availability to work extended hours as per operational requirements
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Able to meet weekly deadlines and work efficiently, on own or as part of a team, in a highly pressurized environment

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAS)

JOB ACTIVITIES
Month end Checks

• Analyzing of expense trends
• Inventory reports
• Expense General checks and month end journals including depreciation, prepayments and creditors accruals
• Allocated Balance sheets reconciliation
• Responsible for the Franchise Marketing and Monthly account fee Invoicing and reconciliations

Banking

• Bank statement management and confirm bank reconciliations

Asset

• Payments and reconciliation of CAPEX
• Responsible for monthly asset acquiring into the financial system
• Monthly Reconciling of company assets and depreciation

Debtors & Creditors Management

• Follow up outstanding creditors, maintain records and provide reports as required.
• Aging analysis on a monthly basis and liaise with Customers and Vendors

Financial Audits

• Yearly assistants in liaising with the companies external auditors

Ad Hoc

• Assist Financial Accountant with Producing Monthly reporting on Retail business units Income statements.
• Assist with office projects from time to time - providing specific bookkeeping support, research and report writing etc.
• Assisting Financial accountant on implementing the point of sale (POS) and financial system for new stores.
