Senior Instrumentation Engineer - Power Plants

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Instrumentation Engineer for their power plant operations, offered in a fully remote capacity. This pivotal role focuses on the design, implementation, calibration, and maintenance of sophisticated instrumentation and control systems essential for the safe and efficient operation of power generation facilities. You will play a key role in ensuring system integrity, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving improvements in measurement and control accuracy, all while working from your chosen location. Key Responsibilities

• Design and specify instrumentation and control systems for power plant applications.
• Develop and manage calibration procedures and schedules for critical instruments.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with instrumentation, control valves, and transmitters.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and startup of new instrumentation systems.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
• Provide technical expertise and support to maintenance and operations teams remotely.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, specifically within power generation environments.
• Strong knowledge of various instrumentation technologies (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level sensors) and control valves.
• Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
• Familiarity with international standards such as ISA and IEC.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong remote work ethic.
