Are you an experienced payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership, working with detail and leading a team to deliver a high-quality payroll function? An established organisation is looking for an experienced Payroll Team Leader to join their team and take responsibility for the day-to-day payroll operations across multiple entities. This is a great opportunity for someone who is hands-on, analytical and solutions-driven, with strong payroll knowledge and the ability to lead and support a team within a structured control environment.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the end-to-end payroll process across multiple entities

• Leading, supporting and developing the payroll team

• Reviewing payroll inputs, calculations and exception reports

• Performing and reviewing payroll reconciliations

• Ensuring compliance with SARS, payroll legislation and statutory requirements

• Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and issues

• Supporting audit requirements and maintaining accurate payroll documentation

• Working closely with HR, Finance and operational teams

• Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems and controls

Qualifications and Experience

• A Diploma or Degree in Payroll, HR, Finance, Accounting or a related field

• 5+ years’ payroll experience in a multi-company environment

• 2+ years’ experience leading or supervising a payroll team

• Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude

• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation, payroll taxation, employee benefits and statutory reporting

• Experience with payroll reconciliations and month-end processes

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• High levels of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism
