Part-time Librarian Assistant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and organized Part-time Librarian Assistant to support their operations in Upington . This role involves assisting patrons, managing library collections, and performing various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the library. You will be instrumental in helping the community access information and resources, fostering a welcoming and efficient library environment. Key Responsibilities

• Assist library patrons with locating materials, using library resources, and answering inquiries.
• Check books in and out, manage patron accounts, and process new materials.
• Shelve books and maintain the organization and tidiness of the library collection.
• Assist with library programs and events, such as children's story times or book clubs.
• Perform basic administrative duties, including photocopying, data entry, and managing supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or library experience is a plus.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in basic computer operations and comfortable learning new software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in Upington .
