Retail Operations Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a data-driven and analytical Retail Operations Analyst to join their team in Sandton . This hybrid role is focused on analyzing operational data to identify areas for improvement, optimize efficiency, and enhance profitability across the retail business. You will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making by providing insights into sales performance, inventory management, supply chain logistics, and customer behavior. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of retail operations, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations for business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data from various retail systems (POS, inventory, CRM).
• Develop reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, inventory, and operational efficiency.
• Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in operational data and provide insights and recommendations.
• Support the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, operations, finance) to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address specific business questions and opportunities in the retail space.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Operations Analyst or similar analytical role, preferably in retail .
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings clearly and concisely.
• Understanding of retail operations, supply chain, and financial principles.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
