Software Dev - AI & Automation

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for an experienced Developer to join their IT team and play a key role in developing, enhancing, and supporting business automation systems.

This is an exciting opportunity for a software developer with 3–6 years’ experience who has a strong technical foundation and a practical understanding of Artificial Intelligence, automation, cloud technologies, APIs, and modern software architecture.

The successful candidate will work across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), translating business requirements into scalable solutions while identifying opportunities to use AI and automation to improve business processes and create additional value.

The Role

As a Developer, you will:

• Develop, enhance, integrate, and support business-critical software solutions.
• Work across the full SDLC, from requirements gathering and design through development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain automation systems and integrations.
• Identify opportunities where AI, automation, and emerging technologies can improve business processes.
• Develop and integrate AI-enabled functionality into existing systems.
• Work with internal teams and third-party stakeholders to deliver effective technology solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and performance bottlenecks in high-availability environments.
• Contribute to coding standards, system architecture, development frameworks, and deployment methodologies.
• Mentor and support junior developers.
• Continuously improve system functionality, performance, security, and user experience.

What You’ll Need

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma or relevant qualification in Software Development, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A degree such as B.Eng., B.Sc., B.Com, or a related IT/software development qualification would be advantageous.
• Additional qualifications or certifications in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related disciplines would be advantageous.

Experience

• 3–6 years’ relevant software development experience.
• Experience mentoring junior developers.
• Practical experience developing or integrating AI and AI-enabled solutions.
• Strong experience with:C# / .NETREST APIsMicroservice architectureRelational and non-relational databasesMSSQL and/or Cosmos DBMessage brokers such as RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus or AWS EventBridgeCloud platforms, particularly AzureXML and JSONGit/version controlProduction troubleshooting and debuggingThird-party system integrationsPerformance optimisation
• Experience with Angular or React would be advantageous.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Azure Durable Functions, and Azure DevOps would be advantageous.
