Senior Power Systems Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to join their innovative, remote-first engineering division. This role is crucial for designing, analyzing, and optimizing electrical power systems for a variety of applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and efficiency of power infrastructure, often working on complex grid integration or renewable energy projects. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, analysis, and simulation of complex power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
• Develop and implement strategies for grid integration, renewable energy sources, and energy storage solutions.
• Conduct power flow, fault, stability, and harmonic analyses using industry-standard software tools.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of power systems, identifying and mitigating potential risks and operational issues.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams on power system engineering matters.
• Collaborate with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and successful project outcomes for remote operations.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• 8+ years of experience in power system analysis, design, and operations.
• In-depth knowledge of power system dynamics, protection, and control strategies.
• Proficiency in power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, adept at conveying complex technical concepts in a remote setting.
