About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Chemical Plant Operator to join their operations team in Mahikeng . You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various chemical processing equipment and systems. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to strict safety protocols, and the ability to monitor and control process parameters effectively. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the plant and the production of high-quality chemical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment, including reactors, pumps, and control systems.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and protocols, including lockout/tagout and emergency response.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor process variables (temperature, pressure, flow rates) and make necessary adjustments.
- Accurately record production data, shift logs, and quality control information.
- Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions, taking appropriate corrective actions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience as a chemical plant operator or in a similar industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of chemical plant safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret process diagrams and operating manuals.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
