About the Role Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Insurance Portfolio Manager to lead their investment and underwriting portfolio management initiatives in Sandton . Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies for the growth and profitability of the insurance and investment portfolios. Monitor portfolio performance against key metrics, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities and threats. Manage relationships with reinsurers, investment managers, and other key partners. Oversee the underwriting guidelines and risk appetite framework for the company. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on portfolio performance for senior leadership and the board. Requirements Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is preferred. Significant experience (7+ years) in insurance portfolio management , investment management, or a closely related field. Deep understanding of insurance products, actuarial principles, and financial markets. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities. Proven track record of managing complex financial portfolios and achieving financial targets. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
