Construction Manager – Construction / EPC Projects
Location: Project sites and Johannesburg office
Contract: 6- 12-month contract may be considered for a suitable candidate

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to manage site construction activities on large-scale construction / EPC projects. Experience within electrical infrastructure, substations, renewable energy or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is preferred.
The successful candidate will coordinate site teams, subcontractors and resources to ensure construction work progresses safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise day-to-day construction activities.
• Manage site teams and subcontractors across the relevant construction disciplines.
• Coordinate labour, plant, equipment and material requirements.
• Ensure work complies with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project requirements.
• Monitor site progress against the construction programme and implement recovery actions where required.
• Enforce site health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, engineering team, Planner and procurement team to resolve site constraints.
• Lead site coordination meetings and report on progress, risks and resource requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, snag resolution and construction handover activities.

Candidate requirements

• Relevant construction management experience on large-scale construction / EPC projects.
• Experience within electrical, substation, renewable energy or BESS projects would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, site operations and subcontractor coordination.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and programmes.
• Strong leadership, organisational and practical problem-solving skills.
• A strong commitment to site safety and quality.
• Willingness to work on project sites and attend the Johannesburg office as project requirements dictate.
