Service Technician â Electrical / Hydraulics / Lifting Equipment
Roles and Responsibilities
Perform electrical, hydraulic and mechanical maintenance on industrial equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical faults using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment. Carry out hydraulic fault finding and troubleshooting. Inspect, service, repair and maintain hydraulic systems and components. Work on mechanical systems, components and assemblies. Identify the root cause of equipment faults and implement appropriate repairs. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance. Carry out equipment inspections, servicing and repairs at customer and industrial sites. Test equipment following maintenance or repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation. Work with motors, control systems, hydraulic components, mechanical drives and associated equipment. Read and interpret electrical diagrams, hydraulic schematics and mechanical drawings. Assist with equipment installation, commissioning and modifications where required. Perform basic welding and fabrication work where required. Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with applicable safety procedures and technical standards. Communicate professionally with customers and site personnel. Travel to customer sites as required.
Technical Requirements
The successful candidate should have hands-on experience with a combination of: Electrical Electrical fault finding Motors and electrical components Control circuits Electrical testing and diagnostics Frequency drives / VSDs PLC-controlled equipment Hydraulics Hydraulic fault finding Hydraulic circuits and components Hydraulic cylinders Hydraulic pumps and valves Hydraulic hoses and fittings Hydraulic power packs Pressure and flow-related troubleshooting Mechanical Mechanical maintenance and repairs Mechanical systems and components Drives and moving equipment Bearings, couplings and related components Equipment assembly and disassembly Other Basic welding and fabrication Equipment inspection and servicing Preventative and corrective maintenance Lifting Equipment Experience Experience working with the following equipment will be a strong advantage: Cranes Overhead cranes Hoists Winches Lifting equipment Hydraulic lifting systems Hydraulic power packs Candidates who have worked specifically on crane, hoist or lifting equipment and have both electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting experience are particularly relevant.
Minimum Requirements
Relevant technical qualification or trade certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Millwright or a related field. Proven hands-on experience in electrical fault finding. Genuine practical experience with hydraulic systems and troubleshooting. Experience with mechanical maintenance and repairs. Ability to diagnose faults across electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret relevant electrical diagrams, hydraulic schematics and mechanical drawings. Basic welding skills. Good English communication skills. Ability to work independently and solve technical problems on-site. Willingness to travel to customer and industrial sites.
