Field Service Tech (Rotating Equipment)

Roles and Responsibilities

Perform installation, maintenance, inspection, repair and overhaul of industrial rotating equipment. Dismantle and reassemble rotating machinery safely and accurately. Diagnose mechanical faults and identify the root causes of equipment failures. Carry out repairs and component replacements on rotating equipment. Perform shaft, coupling and equipment alignment using appropriate tools and techniques. Inspect and replace bearings, mechanical seals, couplings and other mechanical components. Work on pumps, compressors, gearboxes, turbines and other rotating machinery. Conduct equipment overhauls and refurbishment activities. Perform mechanical assembly and disassembly according to technical specifications and manufacturer requirements. Assist with balancing and vibration-related maintenance where required. Measure and inspect components for wear, damage and correct tolerances. Read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals and mechanical specifications. Conduct inspections and identify potential equipment failures before they result in unplanned downtime. Complete maintenance and service reports accurately following field work. Work safely and follow all relevant health, safety and environmental procedures. Liaise with clients, maintenance teams and engineering personnel while working on-site. Travel to customer sites and industrial facilities as required to perform service and maintenance work.

Rotating Equipment Experience

Candidates must have genuine hands-on experience working with rotating machinery, which may include: Pumps Compressors Turbines Gearboxes Motors Bearings Shafts Couplings Mechanical seals Alignment systems Balancing Vibration monitoring or analysis Rotating equipment overhauls The candidate should be able to demonstrate that they have personally performed activities such as: Equipment dismantling Mechanical inspection Fault finding Repair and component replacement Alignment Assembly and reassembly Equipment installation Maintenance Overhauls and refurbishment.

Minimum Requirements

Relevant mechanical trade qualification or technical qualification. Proven hands-on experience working with industrial rotating equipment. Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities. Practical experience with equipment dismantling, repair and reassembly. Experience with alignment and mechanical fitting. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation. Strong understanding of mechanical components, tolerances and equipment operating principles. Ability to work independently and take responsibility for completing technical work to a high standard. Good English communication skills. Willingness to travel to customer and industrial sites as required.
