About the Role
Our client, an established child welfare organization in Port Elizabeth , is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker - Child Welfare . This critical role involves providing essential support, guidance, and intervention services to children and families in need. You will work diligently to ensure the safety, well-being, and development of children, collaborating with families, schools, and other community agencies. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to child protection and a thorough understanding of social work principles and practices within the Eastern Cape context.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
- Develop and implement individualized case plans in collaboration with families and relevant stakeholders.
- Provide counseling and support services to children and their families to address challenges.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of children within legal and community systems.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in child welfare or a related social service field.
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and crisis intervention skills.
