Automation Engineer

About the Role

Our client in Randburg is seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated systems within their manufacturing facility. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and commission automated systems and control solutions for manufacturing processes.
• Program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and robotics.
• Implement and maintain automation hardware and software, ensuring system reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify automation opportunities and requirements.
• Develop and execute validation and testing procedures for automated systems.
• Stay abreast of new automation technologies and trends, recommending advancements for implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Automation Engineer or in a similar role with a strong focus on industrial automation.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
• Experience with robotics integration and industrial networking protocols.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and mechatronics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex automated systems.
