Project Engineer - Infrastructure Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Project Engineer to contribute to significant infrastructure development projects in the Vereeniging area. This hybrid role requires a professional who can effectively manage project lifecycles, from planning and design coordination to execution and handover, while balancing remote administrative tasks with essential on-site supervision. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects that enhance local infrastructure, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of infrastructure projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and external consultants to ensure project requirements are met.
• Oversee site activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
• Manage project budgets, control costs, and approve contractor payments.
• Prepare project reports, documentation, and communication materials for stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in project engineering and infrastructure development.
• Proven track record of successfully managing civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, contract administration, and site supervision.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in project management software is desirable.
