Pipeline Engineer - Integrity and Maintenance

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Pipeline Engineer to oversee the integrity and maintenance of their extensive pipeline network in the Stellenbosch region. This role is vital for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of critical energy infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing and implementing inspection, maintenance, and repair programs, managing corrosion control, and ensuring compliance with all industry standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive pipeline integrity management plans .
• Oversee routine inspections, integrity assessments, and risk analyses for the pipeline network.
• Manage corrosion monitoring and control programs, including cathodic protection systems.
• Plan and supervise pipeline repairs, replacements, and new construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with national and international pipeline safety regulations and standards.
• Investigate pipeline failures or incidents and recommend preventative measures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pipeline engineering , with a focus on integrity and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, pipeline coatings , and cathodic protection.
• Familiarity with NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) methods for pipeline inspection.
• Experience with pipeline regulatory compliance and relevant industry standards (e.g., API, ASME).
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
