Production Planner / AutoCAD Draughter

REQUIREMENTS - Matric, or equivalent qualification - Strong AutoCAD drafting skills with the ability to produce accurate technical and production drawings - Ability to understand technical drawings, dimensions, specifications and construction methods - Good understanding of how different materials behave and which materials are suitable for specific applications - Experience with material take-offs and job costing - Strong attention to detail and accuracy - Excellent problem-solving and practical thinking skills - Ability to interpret a brief and develop a workable solution independently - Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Project Managers, production teams, suppliers and installers - Strong organisational and planning abilities - Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and deadlines - A practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to assist wherever required DUTIES - Receive and interpret briefs from Project Managers and translate them into practical signage solutions - Produce accurate and detailed 2D/3D drawings and production-ready layouts using AutoCAD - Review designs and provide practical suggestions regarding construction, materials, finishes, installation and manufacturing methods - Develop signage solutions that are both visually appropriate and practical to manufacture and install - Have a understanding of signage materials, including aluminium, acrylic, PVC, vinyl, steel, LED components, illuminated signage, substrates, fixings and related materials - Determine the appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for each project - Prepare cutting lists, material requirements and production information - Liaise closely with Project Managers to clarify specifications, deadlines and project requirements - Work with production staff to ensure drawings and specifications can be manufactured accurately - Identify potential production or installation challenges before manufacturing begins and recommend solutions - Assist with accurate job costing, including materials, labour, outsourced services and other production requirements - Check drawings, dimensions and specifications carefully to minimise errors, material wastage and rework - Assist with technical queries from Project Managers, clients, suppliers and installers Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience Join us on SOCIAL MEDIA or visit our WEBSITE for more information.
