Legal Consultant - Compliance

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Legal Consultant specializing in compliance to join their team on a contract basis, offering a hybrid work arrangement based out of Klerksdorp . You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs to ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and the ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical business solutions. The role offers a unique opportunity to work across different business units in the North West province, contributing to the company's ethical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update company policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments.
• Provide training to staff on compliance matters and best practices.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay abreast of changes in legislation and regulatory requirements impacting the business.
• Advise management on compliance risks and strategies.

Requirements

• Law degree or relevant professional qualification in compliance or risk management.
• Demonstrable experience in corporate compliance, regulatory affairs, or internal audit.
• In-depth knowledge of South African corporate and industry-specific regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
• Experience with compliance management software is an advantage.
