Social Worker - Community Support

Our client is seeking a qualified and empathetic Social Worker to join their community support team in Mahikeng . This hybrid role focuses on providing essential social services, counseling, and support to individuals and families facing various challenges. You will assess needs, develop intervention plans, and connect clients with appropriate resources within the community. Balancing fieldwork with remote administrative and consultation duties, this position offers a significant opportunity to facilitate positive change and enhance the well-being of community members in the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify client needs and strengths.
• Develop and implement individualized intervention and support plans in collaboration with clients.
• Provide counseling and therapeutic support to individuals, families, and groups.
• Connect clients with community resources and services, such as housing, healthcare, and employment assistance.
• Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure their rights and needs are met.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and prepare progress reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) or equivalent qualification, registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in social work, with experience in community-based settings.
• Proficiency in case management, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, managing both field and remote tasks.
• Strong knowledge of social welfare policies and community resources in Mahikeng and surrounding areas.
