About the Role

Our client is seeking a robust and safety-conscious Wind Turbine Technician to join their operations team in Mahikeng . This role is essential for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of wind turbines, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of our wind farm assets. You will work at heights and in various weather conditions, performing critical tasks to keep our renewable energy generation running smoothly. The ideal candidate is mechanically and electrically inclined, with a strong commitment to safety protocols and a passion for renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on wind turbine systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults and failures in turbines, identifying root causes.
• Conduct inspections and performance tests on wind turbine equipment.
• Repair or replace defective parts, using hand and power tools and following technical manuals.
• Work safely at heights and in challenging environmental conditions.
• Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and performance data accurately.

Requirements

• Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with experience in hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Certification for working at heights and confined spaces is required.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Good physical condition and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
