Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer to oversee and enhance the electrical maintenance strategies for their facilities in Benoni . This role is critical for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all electrical systems and equipment. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, develop predictive and preventive maintenance programs, and manage troubleshooting efforts for complex electrical issues. Your expertise will be vital in minimizing downtime, optimizing maintenance costs, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. This is a hands‑on leadership position within a vital industrial operation in the Gauteng province, requiring a deep understanding of industrial electrical systems and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the electrical maintenance team, providing technical guidance and supervision.


• Develop, implement, and optimize predictive and preventive maintenance programs for electrical equipment.


• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical faults in machinery and power distribution systems.


• Ensure all electrical maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, standards, and best practices.


• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for electrical maintenance needs.


• Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, root causes of failure, and areas for improvement.


• Oversee electrical aspects of capital projects and equipment upgrades.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.


• Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.


• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, control panels, and power distribution .


• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).


• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and P&IDs.


• Excellent leadership, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
