Farm Health and Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Farm Health and Safety Officer to ensure a safe and compliant working environment across their agricultural operations in Klerksdorp . This role is crucial for implementing and enforcing health and safety protocols to protect employees, visitors, and the environment. You will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, developing safety procedures, delivering training, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. The position involves a mix of on-site inspections and administrative tasks, supporting the overall well-being of the farm community in the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the farm's health and safety management system.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and implementing preventative measures.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Develop and deliver health and safety training programs to all farm employees.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incident reports.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Safety Management, Occupational Health, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the agricultural sector.
• Knowledge of South African OHS Act and relevant agricultural safety standards.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques.
• Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
