Operations Analyst - FMCG Logistics

About the Role

Our client, a leader in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, is looking for a data-driven and analytical Operations Analyst to join their dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. This role is critical for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of their logistics and supply chain operations across South Africa. You will be responsible for analyzing operational data, identifying bottlenecks, developing process improvements, and supporting strategic decision-making to optimize delivery times, reduce costs, and improve overall customer satisfaction. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated analyst to contribute to the seamless functioning of a major FMCG supply chain from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze operational and logistical data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within the FMCG supply chain.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) dashboards to monitor the health and efficiency of logistics operations.
• Conduct root cause analysis for operational issues and propose data-backed solutions and process enhancements.
• Support the planning and execution of logistics strategies, including route optimization, carrier performance management, and inventory movement.
• Create detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management and cross-functional teams.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies in FMCG logistics and operations analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
• 2-4 years of experience in an operations analysis, logistics analysis, or supply chain analysis role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and preferably experience with BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
• Ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote setting.
