About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and analytical Construction Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Pretoria . This role is central to managing project costs, ensuring financial viability, and mitigating commercial risks throughout the construction lifecycle. You will be responsible for cost estimation, contract administration, and financial reporting for a variety of construction projects. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects.
• Administer construction contracts, including managing variations, claims, and payments to subcontractors.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, forecasting final costs and identifying potential cost overruns.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify work completed for payment applications and valuations.
• Negotiate and agree on final accounts with clients and contractors upon project completion.
• Provide expert advice on contractual matters, cost-saving opportunities, and risk management strategies to project teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Thorough understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JBCC, NEC), tendering processes, and cost management principles .
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and standard measurement techniques.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple project deadlines effectively.
