Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking an astute Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst to join their proactive security team in Polokwane . This role is focused on identifying, analyzing, and disseminating intelligence about current and potential cyber threats facing the organization. You will play a key role in informing defensive strategies and enhancing the overall security posture by providing actionable intelligence on threat actors, campaigns, and malware. This is an ideal position for a curious and analytical individual passionate about understanding the threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and interpret threat intelligence data from various sources, including open-source, commercial feeds, and internal security telemetry.
• Identify and track threat actors, their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Produce timely and actionable threat intelligence reports for different audiences, including technical teams and senior management.
• Develop and maintain threat models relevant to the organization's industry and environment.
• Provide recommendations for improving defensive capabilities based on threat intelligence insights.
• Collaborate with SOC and incident response teams to integrate intelligence into operational workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Intelligence Studies, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in cyber threat intelligence, security analysis, or a related cybersecurity role.
• Proficiency in analyzing malware, network traffic, and forensic data.
• Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms (TIPs) and open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering techniques.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Understanding of geopolitical factors influencing cyber threats is a plus.
