Irrigation Systems Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Irrigation Systems Technician to manage and maintain landscape irrigation systems for various clients in and around Stellenbosch . This role is crucial for ensuring efficient water usage and the health of green spaces, playing a key part in landscape management. You will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of irrigation networks, including controllers, pipes, and sprinklers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of water management systems and a commitment to providing excellent service, contributing to sustainable practices in the Western Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Install new irrigation systems according to design specifications.
• Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on existing irrigation networks.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in irrigation controllers, valves, pipes, and sprinklers.
• Adjust watering schedules and systems to optimize water efficiency and plant health.
• Operate and maintain specialized irrigation equipment.
• Provide reports on system performance and recommend upgrades or repairs.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician or in a related landscaping or horticultural role.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation system components, operation, and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and schematics.
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment common for irrigation system installation and repair.
• Good physical condition to work outdoors in various weather conditions in Stellenbosch .
• Knowledge of water conservation techniques is a plus for this installation and maintenance role.
