Junior Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Civil Engineer to join their progressive engineering consultancy in Stellenbosch . This role provides an ideal platform for recent graduates to gain practical experience in civil engineering projects, including infrastructure design, site supervision, and project coordination. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to a variety of projects and developing your technical skills. This position offers a hybrid work model, combining valuable in-office collaboration and mentorship with the flexibility of remote work, situated in the vibrant academic and business hub of Stellenbosch .

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and planning of civil engineering projects, such as roads, bridges, and water systems.
• Conduct site investigations and gather data for project development.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports using relevant software.
• Support project managers in monitoring project progress and ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to ensure project success.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Foundational understanding of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
• Familiarity with civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
