Remote Civil Engineer - Urban Planning & Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Civil Engineer with a strong background in Urban Planning and Development to join their innovative, globally distributed team. This role is vital for shaping sustainable and efficient urban environments through strategic civil engineering planning. You will work on a variety of projects, contributing to the development of infrastructure master plans, land use strategies, and community development initiatives. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your expertise from anywhere, contributing to impactful urban transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement civil engineering aspects of urban master plans, including infrastructure needs assessment (water, sanitation, roads).
• Conduct feasibility studies and impact assessments for proposed urban development projects.
• Collaborate remotely with city planners, architects, environmental scientists, and community stakeholders.
• Prepare design concepts, technical reports, and presentations for urban development proposals.
• Ensure designs align with sustainable development principles, zoning regulations, and community input.
• Provide technical guidance on infrastructure development strategies for new and redeveloping urban areas.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in urban development projects, infrastructure planning, and design.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a remote team environment, utilizing collaboration tools.
• Strong understanding of land use planning, zoning laws, and municipal infrastructure systems.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills for virtual collaboration.
• Familiarity with GIS and CAD software for planning and design visualization.
