Project Engineer - Infrastructure Development

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Project Engineer to join their growing infrastructure development team in Benoni . This role is central to managing various civil and infrastructure projects from inception through to completion, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timelines. You will coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver essential community and industrial infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, design, and execution of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, water, and sanitation systems.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and detailed work plans, and meticulously track progress and resource allocation.
• Coordinate and supervise the work of contractors, consultants, and site personnel to ensure quality and compliance.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure all construction activities meet engineering standards and safety regulations.
• Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, progress reports, and financial records.
• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or project management, with a focus on civil infrastructure.
• Proficiency in project management software and a strong understanding of construction methodologies.
• Experience with contract administration, tendering processes, and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Professional registration with ECSA or equivalent is preferred for this role in Benoni .
