Lead Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to spearhead their remote cybersecurity monitoring and incident response efforts. This leadership role is vital for managing the daily operations of the SOC, mentoring junior analysts, and ensuring the timely and effective detection and mitigation of security threats across the organization. You will play a crucial part in refining SOC processes, enhancing threat intelligence capabilities, and fostering a proactive security stance, all within a fully remote work environment, supporting our global operations from your base in Stellenbosch or anywhere remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC) .
• Oversee the monitoring of security alerts, threat detection, and incident response activities.
• Mentor and guide junior SOC analysts, providing technical expertise and support.
• Develop and refine SOC playbooks , procedures, and escalation protocols.
• Analyze threat intelligence to proactively identify and mitigate emerging security risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in SOC operations, incident response, or threat analysis.
• Proven experience in leading or supervising a team of security analysts.
• Deep understanding of SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, EDR solutions, and threat hunting techniques.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly.
