About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Remote Construction Safety Officer to ensure the highest safety standards across their construction projects, regardless of physical location. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. This role allows a safety professional to make a significant impact by fostering a strong safety culture and providing expert guidance virtually to project teams across the country, supporting a secure working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans for construction projects.
• Conduct regular remote safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel and management virtually.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international health and safety legislation and standards.
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation, including incident logs and training matrices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of safety protocols.
• Relevant safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, OHS Act certification).
• Excellent knowledge of construction hazards and risk management techniques.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for effective remote training and reporting.
• Ability to interpret and apply health and safety legislation.
• Proficiency in using digital tools for documentation, communication, and virtual training.
