About the Role

Our client is seeking a hardworking and diligent Kitchen Porter to join the culinary team in Randburg . You will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen environment, supporting the chefs by managing dishwashing, waste disposal, and general upkeep. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of the kitchen and ensuring adherence to strict hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and sanitize all dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including floors, surfaces, and storage areas.
• Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks as directed, such as peeling vegetables or preparing ingredients.
• Receive and store deliveries, ensuring stock rotation and proper storage conditions.
• Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar cleaning or support role is an advantage.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of cleaning procedures and food safety standards.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and a team player with a positive attitude.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
