Senior UX Researcher

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and insightful Senior UX Researcher to join their innovative product team, operating under a fully remote model, with a focus on their Port Elizabeth operations. You will be instrumental in understanding user behaviors, needs, and motivations to inform product design and strategy. This role requires a passion for uncovering user insights through rigorous research methodologies and translating those findings into actionable recommendations that enhance user experience and drive product success. As part of a remote-first organization, you'll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers across different time zones.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and conduct a variety of user research studies, including usability testing, interviews, surveys, and ethnographic research.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative research data to identify key user insights, pain points, and opportunities for product improvement.
• Develop detailed research reports and present findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers and product managers to integrate user feedback throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Advocate for user-centered design principles and help foster a culture of empathy for users within the organization.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in UX research methodologies and tools.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in UX research, with a strong portfolio showcasing research projects and impact.
• Expertise in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Proficiency with research tools such as survey platforms (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics), user testing platforms (e.g., UserTesting.com), and data analysis software.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex findings clearly.
• Experience working effectively in a remote team environment and collaborating across dispersed teams.
