Project Engineer - Mechanical

About the Role

Our client seeks a motivated Project Engineer with a strong mechanical background to manage and execute various engineering projects in Port Elizabeth . This role involves overseeing projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, providing technical leadership and ensuring successful project outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of significant engineering initiatives within a growing organization located in the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, including planning, execution, and closure.
• Develop project scopes, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in project management, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and project execution methodologies.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in project management software and relevant technical tools.
