Automation Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Automation Electrical Engineer to enhance their capabilities in Stellenbosch . This role will focus on the design, implementation, and optimization of automated control systems for industrial processes. You will leverage your expertise in PLCs, HMI, and SCADA systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety. The position offers a dynamic environment within the technologically advancing Western Cape , where you can contribute to innovative automation solutions and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and program PLC control systems for various industrial applications.
• Develop and configure Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and SCADA systems.
• Integrate automation components, including sensors, drives, and robotics.
• Troubleshoot and debug automation software and hardware issues on the plant floor.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and project teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Perform testing, commissioning, and validation of automated systems to ensure optimal performance in Stellenbosch .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
• Proficiency with major PLC programming platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Omron).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software and industrial networking protocols.
• Understanding of electrical hardware design for automation panels.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
