Plant Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is recruiting for an experienced and proactive Plant Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations for their facility in Vereeniging . This leadership role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the efficient upkeep of all plant machinery and infrastructure. You will be responsible for implementing maintenance strategies, optimizing resource allocation, and maintaining the highest safety standards. This is a pivotal position for an individual with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of industrial maintenance to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance management.
• Develop and implement preventative and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
• Oversee the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective management of resources and spare parts inventory.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, environmental policies, and company standards.
• Investigate equipment failures and operational issues, recommending and implementing solutions.
• Train and mentor maintenance staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.

Requirements

• Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in plant maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a technical team.
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance systems (CMMS) and best practices.
• Excellent knowledge of industrial machinery, electrical systems, and safety protocols.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
