About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Systems Engineer to contribute to their innovative projects from a remote location, servicing the Mahikeng region. This role involves the integration, validation, and optimization of complex automotive systems, including powertrain, chassis, electronics, and software. You will be responsible for defining system requirements, developing integration strategies, and ensuring that all components work together seamlessly to meet performance and quality targets. Key Responsibilities

• Define system-level requirements, architecture, and specifications for automotive subsystems and their interactions.


• Develop and manage system integration plans, ensuring smooth collaboration between different engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, software).


• Oversee the validation and verification of integrated systems, conducting testing and analysis to confirm performance and functionality.


• Identify and resolve complex system-level issues, working closely with component engineers to implement solutions.


• Create and maintain system documentation, including requirements documents, interface control documents, and test reports.


• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices in automotive systems engineering within a remote framework.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.


• 7+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering, with a strong focus on system integration and validation.


• Proven expertise in one or more automotive domains such as powertrain, chassis control, body electronics, or ADAS.


• Familiarity with systems engineering methodologies (e.g., Model-Based Systems Engineering - MBSE) and tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo).


• Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) and diagnostic tools.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, suitable for a remote work environment.
