Procurement Manager - Stellenbosch

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead their purchasing function in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This role involves developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives, managing a team of procurement professionals, and ensuring optimal cost-effectiveness and supply chain efficiency. You will be responsible for building strong supplier partnerships and driving continuous improvement across all procurement activities. This hybrid role allows for a blend of remote work and on-site engagement, fostering collaboration and providing flexibility within a challenging and rewarding environment in the beautiful Stellenbosch winelands.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee all aspects of the procurement process, from sourcing and negotiation to contract management and supplier performance.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity.
• Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for cost reduction and innovation.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a management capacity.
• Proven track record in strategic sourcing, complex negotiations, and category management.
• Experience with ERP systems and procurement analytics tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model, balancing remote and on-site responsibilities.
