About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and dependable Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver to join their bulk transport division in Richards Bay . This critical role involves the transportation of bulk materials, requiring precision, safety consciousness, and adherence to stringent operational guidelines. You will operate specialized vehicles and play a key role in the supply chain for industries operating in the KwaZulu-Natal region. The successful candidate will be part of a team committed to operational excellence and the safe, efficient movement of goods, contributing to the company’s strong reputation in the transport sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) safely and efficiently for the transportation of bulk goods.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and its equipment.
• Ensure all cargo is loaded correctly, secured appropriately, and balanced for safe transit.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, delivery notes, and any required reporting documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and other team members regarding delivery status and any potential issues.

Requirements

• Valid professional driver’s license appropriate for HGV operation (e.g., Code 14).
• Proven experience operating heavy goods vehicles, particularly in bulk transport.
• A clean driving record with no major infringements.
• Strong understanding of load security and safe handling of bulk materials.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including potential overtime and varied start times.
• Good physical condition to manage loading/unloading tasks as required.
