Structural Engineer - Industrial Projects

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer to spearhead structural design and analysis for major industrial projects in Richards Bay . This role requires a deep understanding of structural mechanics, materials, and construction methodologies applicable to heavy industrial facilities, including plants, warehouses, and processing units. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, integrity, and longevity of complex structures. Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for various industrial components and buildings using advanced software.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Conduct site assessments and structural integrity evaluations for existing facilities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical and electrical engineers, to ensure integrated project solutions.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, industry standards (e.g., SANS), and safety regulations.
• Manage structural engineering aspects of projects from conceptualization through to construction and commissioning.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering , with a strong focus on industrial projects.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Expertise in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar.
• Experience with steel and reinforced concrete design for industrial applications.
• Thorough understanding of project management principles and construction practices.
