Area Manager | Cape Town | Apparel Retail Brand

Apparel Retail Brand is seeking an experienced AREA MANAGER to join their team in Cape Town.

The AREA Manager will be responsible to strategically drive results to ensure that each store within the region achieves maximum sales, productivity and profit goals through effective leadership, effective communication, world class service, effective talent management, merchandising excellence, and operational compliance. To motivate teams and to create a vibrant, energetic store environment.

Area Manager competencies required:

• Above average level of expertise in dealing with both the general public and store teams

• Superior Microsoft office skills
• An ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• A solid aptitude for interpreting and reacting to market trends in a timely fashion
• Lead by example on the sales floor and motivate team members to deliver exceptional customer service.

Area Manager candidate requirements:

• Experience : Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Regional or Area Manager preferably in the fashion / apparel / footwear brand environment. Experience working as a Brand Manager or in a similar environment would be an added advantage.
• Education Background : Must have Matric and a combination of or equivalent to the completion of post-secondary education. Proficient in Microsoft applications and a good understanding of Point-of-Sale systems.
• Business Acumen : Strong sales experience with a proven sales track record. Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to use your own initiative. Knowledge and ability to effectively apply company strategy, policy and procedures at store level.
• Interpersonal skills : Excellent communication and presentation skills – written and verbal. Outstanding leadership abilities and capable of managing a functional team. You should be able to motivate and mentor your team.
• Retail specific skills : We are seeking a GO-GETTER attitude and positive outlook on life that loves fashion and footwear to compliment the Cape Town region stores.
• Additional : You must have a valid Driver’s licence and your own vehicle - travelling is required. Willingness to work Store level should the need arise.

Area Manager salary:

Competitive Remuneration: market-related salary package.
