About the Role

Our client requires a skilled Fiber Optic Splicer for projects based in and around Centurion . This role is essential for building and maintaining the high-speed data networks that are the backbone of modern communication. You will be responsible for precisely joining optical fibers to ensure seamless data transmission, working with advanced splicing equipment and techniques. This position is ideal for an experienced splicer who values precision, efficiency, and quality workmanship in the rapidly expanding telecoms infrastructure sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise fusion splicing of single-mode and multi-mode optical fibers in various environmental conditions.
• Utilize specialized splicing equipment, including fusion splicers and OTDRs, for quality assurance and fault detection.
• Install, repair, and maintain fiber optic cables and associated network infrastructure.
• Conduct testing and verification of fiber optic splices and links to ensure signal integrity and performance standards.
• Read and interpret fiber optic network designs, splice maps, and technical documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and industry best practices for fiber optics .

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Splicer with a strong understanding of fiber optic principles.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining fusion splicers, OTDRs, and other related test equipment.
• Experience with different types of fiber optic cables and connectors.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse field conditions.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail for precise splicing work.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various work sites within the Centurion region and potentially beyond.
