About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day functioning of their prominent hospitality establishment in Upington . This integral role is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high standards of service, managing staff, and controlling costs across various departments, including front office, food & beverage, and housekeeping. You will be instrumental in driving profitability, enhancing guest satisfaction, and upholding the reputation of the property. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership acumen, extensive knowledge of hospitality operations, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing significantly to the success of the business and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement among the team, ensuring a seamless experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the operations of multiple departments to ensure optimal efficiency and service quality.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance guest satisfaction and profitability.
  • Oversee staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Control operational costs, manage budgets, and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance programs across all operations.
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor industry trends and implement best practices to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in hospitality operations management.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse teams and multiple operational functions.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, P&L analysis, and cost control.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of hospitality industry standards and best practices.
  • Proficiency with hotel management software and operational tools.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or Business Administration is preferred.
