HSE Advisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable HSE Advisor to join their dedicated team supporting operations in the Soweto region. This position is critical for promoting and ensuring a safe and healthy working environment across all company activities. You will be responsible for implementing HSE policies, conducting inspections, investigating incidents, and providing guidance to employees and management on best practices. This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact on workplace safety within a vital industry, working closely with operational teams to foster a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to employees at all levels.
• Advise management and employees on HSE best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain HSE records and ensure accurate reporting to relevant authorities.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an HSE Advisor or in a similar role within the oil and gas sector.
• Sound knowledge of South African HSE legislation and industry standards.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments and hazard identification.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
